Fall is certainly a beautiful season in Pennsylvania however that doesn’t change the fact that no one wants to think about the end of summer! Regardless of if you think about it or not, you know the end of summer will arrive and if you’re anything like the rest of the world, you’ll wish you had done at least a dozen more things before fall comes around. Well, here’s a list of 7 things you can easily do locally before the summer is over!
Help A Child With a Lemonade Stand – Few things in life remind you of the simple beauty in the world quite like spending the day with children which is one of the things that makes this a GREAT way to spend the day!
Host a Barbecue– Food, Family, Friends and summer sun … need we say more? Barbecues can seem like a lot of work, but if you encourage each guest to bring a dish it really spices up the menu and lessens the work load on for the host. Win-Win!
Have A Yard Sale – We all have things laying around the house collecting dust or taking up space in the basement. Spend a weekend going through your things and have a yard sale. A little extra cash and space never hurt anyone!
Eat a Meal Outside – When the windy days of winter are upon us, you won’t have this option so eat breakfast, lunch or dinner outside when the weather permits.
Visit Hersheypark – We are lucky enough to have a great chocolate themed amusement park right down the road. Oftentimes when attractions are so close to home, we take them for granted – we will get there next month or maybe next year. Go ahead, feed your inner child and plan a day to visit Hersheypark before the summer ends!
Enjoy an evening under the stars – Of course you can admire the stars anytime of the year but there’s something about not needing to be bundled up while laying on a blanket under the nighttime sky. Take a few moments to appreciate the universe!
Go Apple Picking – Apple picking season is upon us and just about 25 mins outside of Harrisburg at the Masonic Village Farm Market you can pick your own apples. It doesn’t get any fresher than that!
If you have any of your own suggestions for local things to do before the summer ends, we’d love to hear from you!
